We know personally, as pet owners ourselves, what it means to take this heartbreaking decision to have to put down our pet and take care of everything else that comes after.
We found it difficult to make our fifteen year old dog Donna, feel comfortable and peaceful while we had to say goodbye to her in an unfamiliar place (a consult room at a vets'). We didn't find it easy to express our emotions freely despite the vet team giving us as much space and sympathy as possible.
Now our dog Cindy she is fifteen years old (2024) , she is getting older and her needs are higher for vet visits and check ups. We are thinking about ensuring the final years of her life are the best by setting aside time to plan everything in advance, ready for when the time comes.
Our dogs inspired us to develop and find solutions in carring for your eldery pets, giving them their best last years of their fullfiling life.
Families and their pets can have a much more relaxed and peaceful experience of saying goodbye at home, or in a familiar space, planned by you on how exactly this can happen, giving more time and offering the comfort that is needed.
WHO ARE WE?
We are a small team dedicated to making the interaction between the pet and the veterinarian a better and more relaxed experience for both you and your pet.
We always shared a strong connection with animals and felt upset when we saw them in need; so we looked for ways to help them when we saw them suffering.
As a young child, Andreea (our vet), used to spend her summer holidays at her grandparents' house in the countryside, exploring their garden and bringging home lots of wildlife. E.g. Baby rabbits, hedgehogs, birds and mice to "take care of and protect against the elements."
Before deciding to follow a veterinary career she worked in a pet shop. Later, during her studies she worked on weekends at a busy boarding kennel. During this time she rescued two lovely dogs. A boxer mix named Donna who was a playful, funny and very loving companion. The other was Cindy, a stubborn yorkie with a strong character and an even stronger appetite.
After graduation (2015) Andreea moved to UK and started working as a vet in small animal practices. In her spare time she enjoys reading, travelling with her husband and spending time with her pets.
To this day, Andreea still rescues wildlife animals by bringing them home, caring, treating and releasing them back in nature.
Catherine is our nurse that has always had a love for animals since she was a little girl. When she was growing up she had rabbits, cats, hamsters and budgies. She loved being around the animals and looking after them.
When she was old enough she got her first dog, which was a dalmation. She knew working with animals was her calling. Having pets of her own made her realise what a powerful bond humans and animals can have, along with the health benefits.
As soon as she was old enough to work, she got a job at a kennels and cattery. Eventually she went into working in a local veterinary practice in 2004 and qualifield as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015. Helping animals during their stay/recovery, spending time with them as much as she can, gives her a sense of reward.
Another satisfying advantage is knowing that she can help them feel at ease and hopefully comfort them while in practice.
Her passion is to continue working with animals and to use her skills, but try to use them in a different way. Possibly going into another skill like physio or canine massage.
She is looking forward to a new stage in her career to being part of this journey with us, in supporting our team and taking care of your pets.
Filip has been around animals since early childhood and graduated (2000) as a veterinary care assistant. Pets or farm animals, big or small he loves them all.
Over the years he rescued many dogs from poor conditions and gave them a better life until a permanent loving home was found.
He currently volunteers at Pablo's Horse Sanctuary where, together with other dedicated lovely people, he cares for old or unwanted horses to make sure that the last chapter of their lives is one of the best.
